Steve Madden Handbag Haul

If you didn't know.... I'm a bag lady. I freaking love handbags I have at least 7 excluding the ones in this post. Unlike clothes no matter how your body changes you can still don them. Even shoes are flexible like purses for some people but if you swell in your feet they suck. Which is why I love purses bloated or not they are still the fashion bff.
I got most of these pretty purses from Burlington Coat Factory and the gold and silver one at stevemadden.com . I have been looking for a perfect black purse for a while. They had a Betsey Johnson one that had a heart print, it looked very similar to the one below, One and Only Now Satchel:

Fitness News: People who sit less have a lower risk of chronic disease.

Last year I posted an infographic on standing.  Well recently Kansas State University researched it and supports the earlier info. This just reminds me to stand more. I was good for a couple of days and just forgot all about it. It's not too late to make standing more a new years resolution, right?

From sciencedaily.com:
People who decrease sitting time and increase physical activity have a lower risk of chronic disease, according to Kansas State University research.

Even standing throughout the day -- instead of sitting for hours at a time -- can improve health and quality of life while reducing the risk for chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, heart disease, stroke, breast cancer and colon cancer, among others.
The researchers -- Sara Rosenkranz and Richard Rosenkranz, both assistant professors of human nutrition -- studied a sample of 194,545 men and women ages 45 to 106. The data was from the 45 and Up Study, which is a large Australian study of health and aging.
"Not only do people need to be more physically active by walking or doing moderate-to-vigorous physical activity, but they should also be looking at ways to reduce their sitting time," Richard Rosenkranz said.
The twofold approach -- sitting less and moving more -- is key to improving health, the researchers said. People often spend the majority of the day being sedentary and might devote 30 to 60 minutes a day to exercise or physical activity, Sara Rosenkranz said. Taking breaks to stand up or move around can make a difference during long periods of sitting.

Time to Workout - Quote - Video

Today's video is only ten minutes. I haven't posted a ten minute video in a while. I did this video without any resistance and still broke a sweat. (Not a drenching one though.) Since it's short it's great for when I'm going to have a super  busy day. I can do it when I wake up before my day starts and know I got some of my exercise in.

For this video you will need:

  • Yoga Mat
  • A set of dumbbells
  • Space- as much as a yoga mat

If you are like me, you need constant motivation. Sometimes I feel like blogging other days I just rather pass, same for exercise. I usually don't have an excuse for myself other than I'm just not feeling it. Sometimes quotes help me. Sometimes reading articles that remind me of the areas I want to target help my motivation. Regardless how I got motivated before I always feel better after my workout.
