One of the lessons I am grateful I learned as a young adult that love isn't ownership. Yes, you want them near but you respect that they have their own purpose that sometimes doesn't include you. When they pass rather it's from emotional distance or death accepting that and giving yourself permission is still an act of love. In their memory you are operating in your best self which is hard to do when the heart is stagnant. I am grateful for the person and the friendship that taught me that.

This was soul food for me. Warm comfort food for my heart. Recently, a tide of overwhelming sadness and internal struggle has hit me. I have been trying to get myself out of it by doing little things that I have the energy to spare for. Those little things are helping. It's soothing to hear another human being say that's okay (because most likely he has been there too).

Constant sets, holey moley! I ended up pausing between sets and I enjoyed the very brief stretches. This video is one I am going to have keep practicing at it to eventually work up to her pace of no pause.

The advanced version option called demi-pliĆ© (I think that's what she said) is for self masochists who enjoy the pain in the workout so you know I did it! (I was also feeling good so why not?!)

Overall, the videos total to about a 45 minute workout. I enjoyed all the videos and I am looking forward to doing them again. Given that it was a lot of pulsing I didn't sweat much but that's okay, I'm satisfied. :-)

I am grateful that I am able to capture the little moments
...more specifically a hermit crab napping.
There are a lot of little moments through out the day that if you are present in the now you will be able to enjoy them. When I woke up from a nap I was happy to see the hermit crab that was curiously inspecting the egg crate ladder took a nap on it too. I love to see when they are so comfortable with something new in the tank that they make it a bed and lounge area too. ^_^

What Are You Grateful for Today? 9/14

I'm grateful for rest days.
In a lot of religions there is a social or designated rest day. In Islam, Friday is a call for prayer but many take it as a day of rest. In Christianity, it's Sunday but there are some sects who do Saturday and the list goes on. Then you have holidays that are rest days for many. In America, Labor Day was just here a week ago but like many homemakers I didn't rest. You see Bear was on vacation for a week and a day and it ended on Labor day. People assumed because he was on vacation (or staycation since he was at home so maybe homecation?) that I was on vacation with him and that couldn't have been further from the truth. I was doing more cooking, cleaning,etc than usual because he was home. As much as I love him more house work for me is not a vacation. He helped....sometimes but it still came to more housework for me. 
After he went back to work, although he was missed, I was happy. I was behind on some things pertaining to my channel, blog, store,etc so now I could catch up. A week later of trying to catch up while debuting a new series on my channel and blog, I am burned out. So last night I decided to just post videos, make sure the description was right and not do any other extra editing. No annotations. No cards. I didn't even stay up to do my daily blogposts. 
 So to start my night for rest, I hopped in my bed and decided to watch anime until my heart's content. I stayed up late watching anime but I wasn't too hard on myself for staying up. I reminded myself if this is the start of a rest day there shouldn't be any guidelines or schedules. Every time I woke up to go use the restroom, instead of getting up and start to work on something when the sun was up I went right back to bed and enjoyed some more sleeping . When I finally decided to wake up I felt so refreshed (and I'm still elated, yay)!
So you are probably wondering how you are reading this? Well I was debating on rather to write this or not but since I really wanted to write, I decided to just do it. So even though I am technically working by writing and editing this, I am not putting the pressure on myself and that feels good. So after this I will continue my rest day (for my mind since I have no problem taking rest days from exercise for my body). I needed the reminder that it's okay to go with the flow sometimes and how refreshing it is so for that I'm grateful for rest days.

What Are You Grateful for Today? - September 12th (WAYGFT) 


I'm grateful for ground cloves.
I still have the bottle of whole cloves that I bought 1-2 years ago. When I bought it I convinced myself that I was actually going to buy a grinder for the cloves and grind them myself so I can have taste of 'fresh' ground cloves in my baking, peach cobbler in particular. Well seeing it's been touched twice, when I got it and when we (recently) moved, we both know no grinding will not be happening (seeing that I haven't even bought a grinder!).

The last time I made peach cobbler, well peach dump cake, I was satisfied but it didn't bring back the memories of my mom's peach cobbler. Since I was going for the taste of her peach cobbler and not the actually making the pie crust part, hence using a cake mix as the crust, I knew I needed cloves. A few days ago, I saw the peaches we haven't ate since I put in the refrigerator. Knowing that I needed to use them up I thought to make a peach dump cake/cobbler. I then asked Bin Poo to make a late night run to the store. Well it was actually early evening when I asked him but he got caught up in the game, partner's of gamers knows how that goes. *le sigh* He set off to the store for what I asked which was, vanilla ice cream, canned peaches, nutmeg and ground clover. Yes, you read clover. Since I ended up calling it ground clover and not cloves he was confused when it wasn't there. It ended up being clarified for us both when he said they have 'ground cloves' (LOL).

So when he came back, I got to work and started making it (which can be seen here in this day in the life/daily vlog).When I put it in the oven, I was a little worried that I over spiced it and was planning to use the vanilla ice cream to tone it down if needed be. After it was done and cooled, my worries were relieved upon tasting it. It was simply divine. Memories of my mother's loves, hugs and quirks I could feel while eating that slice of peach dump cake. The ground clover really helped me bring the taste of my mother's peach cobbler and that's why I'm grateful for ground cloves.

Six Word Saturday


Debuted new video series on channel!
It's been a while since I have done a Six Word Saturday. But I am up at 2:32 in the morning so why not do another blogpost! This week I debuted a video series on my channel that I have been wanting to do for a long time, a 'What Are You Grateful for Today (WAYGFT)' daily video series (which I have blogpost series of me answering the question as well via writing/typing). At first, I tried to make graphics asking WAYGFT and do a facebook page where I would post daily but that didn't work out. I didn't have an audience and my drive lacked on doing the graphics. So after much debate on rather to debut the WAYGFT series on my already established channel or a new channel, I started it on my established channel. I was honest with myself that I don't like building new audiences when I already have one. Since I am a lifestyle (code for their media touches on multiple topics) blogger and vlogger we will see how yet another series/interest pans out on my blogsite and YouTube channel.
